DUDE pähkinänkuoressa
DUDE on pääasiassa nuorten alle 29 –vuotiaiden matalan kynnyksen uudenlainen ympäristö, jossa kohtaavat työelämän tarpeita mallintavat tehtävät ja nuorten laaja-alainen elämänhallinnan tuki kohti työuraa ja/tai lisäkouluttautumista. DUDE –ympäristö on tarkoitettu opiskelijoille, työttömille alan vaihtajille ja heille, jotka ovat vaarassa tippua koulutuksen tai työelämän ulkopuolelle. Voit olla opiskelijana ammatillisessa koulutuksessa, ammattikorkeakoulussa, yliopistossa tai työttömänä työnhakijana. Toiminta ei ole oppilaitosten normaalia toimintaa, vaan sinne tuodaan yritysten tehtäviä, joilla kehitetään kohdehenkilöiden henkilökohtaista osaamista tekemisen kautta. Samalla kohdehenkilö pääsee verkostoutumaan uudella tavalla yritysten kanssa ja tuomaan omaa osaamistaan esille. Ympäristössä kohdehenkilöt työstävät työelämän tehtäviä ja heidän elämänhallintaa –ja taitojaan tuetaan hankkeen moniammatillisen henkilöstön avulla. Ympäristön työskentelytavoissa korostetaan yksilölähtöisyyttä, joustavuutta, avoimuutta ja tilannekohtaisuutta. DUDE ympäristössä yksilö työstää hänelle räätälöityä tehtävää joko yksin tai osana ryhmää. Räätälöidyt tehtävät tulevat asiantuntijoilta, jotka ovat valmistelleet ne lähtökohtaisesti yrityksiltä saaduista työelämää mallintavista tehtävistä. Tehtävät ovat työelämänkaltaisia ja niiden tarkoituksena on kehittää ensisijaisesti nuoren ammatillista pääomaa. Yritysten rooli hankkeessa on tuottaa tehtäviä, jotka vastaavat alan tarpeita nyt ja tulevaisuudessa. Nuoren tukena toimii laaja yhteistyöverkosto ja alakohtaiset asiantuntijat, jotka sparraavat, auttavat ja tukevat nuorta hänen tehtävissään. Työskentely tapahtuu nykyaikaisilla digitaalisilla työkaluilla ja toimintamenetelmillä, jotta siirtymä DUDE-ympäristöstä työelämään olisi joustavaa. Hankkeella on vahva nuorten syrjäytymisen ja koulupudokkuuden ennaltaehkäisemisen näkökulma. Nuorilla voi olla haasteena se, että he saattavat asua perheineen kaukana oppilaitoksesta, eikä heidän tukeminen onnistu näin ollen perinteisin menetelmin. Tähän tarpeeseen DUDE –ympäristöä on laajennettu myös virtuaaliseen ympäristöön. Tämä helpottaa kohdehenkilöiden ohjausta paikkakunnasta riippumatta. Ympäristön toiminta perustuu:
- työelämää mallintavien, yleishyödyllisten, digitalisaatioon liittyvien tehtävien toteuttamiseen ammattitaitoisessa opastuksessa henkilökohtaisten taitojen kasvattamiseksi.
- elämässä tarvittavien osa-alueiden kehittämiseen yksilötasolla, kuten vuorovaikutustaidot, työelämän pelisäännöt ja elämänhallinta.
- selkeästi havaittuun tarpeeseen, johon ei kyetä vastaamaan tavanomaisilla toimintatavoilla.
Hankkeen tavoitteena on
- Yksilön työllistyminen ja ammatillisen pääoman kasvattaminen
- Edesauttaa kohderyhmäläisten nivelvaihetta koulutuksesta koulutukseen ja koulutuksesta työelämään siirtymisestä. Taustalla toimii väylämalli.
- Nuorten syrjäytymisen ehkäiseminen.
- DUDE pilottiympäristön rakentaminen digitalisaatioalalle. Parhaiden keinojen etsiminen, rakentaminen ja toiminnan jatkuvuuden varmistaminen
Hankkeen tulokset tiivistetysti:
- Yksilöiden digitalisaatio-osaamisen kehittyminen perusosaajasta itseensä luottavaksi taitajaksi
- Yksilön kognitiivisten taitojen sekä elämänlaadun kohentuminen
- Yksilöiden työllistymisen edistäminen
- Konkreettisia referenssejä yksilöille omasta osaamisestaan
- Minäkuvan vahvistuminen sekä sosiaalisten/työelämätaitojen kehittyminen
- DUDE-konsepti, jota voidaan laajentaa ja monistaa osaksi oppilaitosten perustoimintaa, rinnakkaiseksi toiminnaksi.
DUDE-hanke päättyi vuoden 2020 lopussa. Hankkeen loppuvaiheessa koostimme raportin, jossa kerrotaan hankkeen toiminnasta ja tuloksista. Raportti on ladattavissa tästä.

DUDE in a nutshell
DUDE is a new, easily accessible environment aimed chiefly at young people under the age of 29. In DUDE, tasks modelling the needs of working life meet a wide-ranging support of life skills leading towards a career and/or further education for young people. The DUDE environment is intended for unemployed persons, students, people changing careers and for those who are in the danger of falling outside of education and work. Activities are targeted not only for a certain group, but the goal is to create a new kind of an environment with easy access.
The activities are not typical activities of educational institutions. Tasks from actual businesses are brought into the environment and converted into task that develop personal skills of target persons. At the same time, a target person is able to network with businesses in a completely new way and is able to bring out his/her own knowhow. The target persons will work on tasks of a working life in the environment and the multi-professional personnel of the project supports their life skills. This creates a completely new kind of concept, in which technical doing and wide-ranging support of life skills meet for the benefit of an individual.
The DUDE environment emphasizes individual-based, flexible, open and situation-specific working methods. A target person will work on a task tailor-made for him/her either alone or as a part of a group. These tailor-made tasks come from professionals who have prepared them primarily based on tasks modelling working life received from businesses.
The tasks resemble working life and their purpose is to develop mainly the professional capital of a young person. The role of the businesses in the project is to produce tasks that reflect the needs of the field now and in the future. The businesses do not gain any economic benefit from the tasks carried out by the target persons, but the tasks are small non-profit works of businesses the target persons can practice on. A wide cooperation network, as well as field-specific experts, support the young person by spurring, helping and encouraging him/her with the tasks. To make the transition from the DUDE environment to working life as flexible as possible, target persons work with modern digital tools and methods.
The perspective of the project is strongly based on the prevention of young people’s social exclusion and school dropping. The young may live far away from the school with their families, which makes it difficult to support them with traditional ways. For this reason, the DUDE environment has been extended into a virtual environment. This makes it easier to instruct the target persons regardless of place.
The activity of the DUDE environment is based on:
- Tasks that model working life, are non-profit and related to digitalization and are instructed by professionals, in order to enhance personal skills.
- Development of aspects needed in life on individual level, such as people skills, rules of working life and life control.
- The needs of individual which cannot be matched with conventional methods.
The DUDE environment operates in Kokkola Campus area where a target group member can carry out tasks assigned to him/her in a physical, pleasant and encouraging space. Additionally, a virtual environment based on existing digital project management and implementation tools supports the physical surroundings.
The aim of the project is:
- Employment, and enhancing the professional capital of an individual
- To support the target group members with the transition from education to education and from education to working life, with a channel model on the background.
- To prevent social exclusion of young people.
- To build the DUDE pilot environment for the field of digitalization. To find the best measures, build and to ensure the continuity of the activity.
The results of the project in a nutshell:
- Development of individuals’ digitalization-related competence; from basic skills into self-confident experts
- Improvement of individual’s cognitive skills and quality of life
- Individuals will network with representatives of working life.
- Individuals will get concrete references for their skills.
- Reinforcement of self-image and development of social/working life skills
- The DUDE concept which can be expanded and duplicated into a part of the basic activity of educational institutions, as a parallel action In this project, digital competence and digitalization mean a branch of technology in which IT has a dominant role. This includes coding, technical equipment, automatization, digital services and digital communication, as well as the development, planning and maintenance related to them. The target group members should have a background of some of these digitalization-related skills and competence in some of the fields. The tasks carried out within the DUDE environment must encompass some of the mentioned elements.
The project aims to reach those individuals who require specific support, with new concrete ways. Both joint networks and communication play a significant role in this. Many of these individuals are extremely talented, potential experts whose expertise is needed to create domestic competitiveness and a more sustainable society.
